Laboratory

Our Laboratory

At Bertot, quality is not just a promise — it is something we measure, verify, and certify. We have fully renewed our internal laboratory, making a significant investment in state-of-the-art testing equipment and capabilities. This means faster turnaround times, tighter quality control, and complete traceability — all performed in-house, without reliance on third parties.

Tensile Testing

Mechanical Properties Testing

Measurement of mechanical properties including yield strength, tensile strength and elongation, performed on standardised specimens.

Impact Testing

Low-Temperature Testing Capability

Our newly installed cryostat enables mechanical testing at temperatures as low as −90 °C, covering the most demanding applications in oil & gas and offshore industries. Both impact tests can be carried out under these controlled sub-zero conditions, in full conformance with ASTM and EN testing standards.

This capability places Bertot among a select group of suppliers able to provide fully documented, low-temperature mechanical qualification without subcontracting — reducing lead times and ensuring the integrity of the test chain from material receipt to final report.

Complete In-House Testing Suite

We are actively expanding our laboratory offer.

The following capabilities are in the final stages of implementation and will soon be available as part of our full in-house testing programme:

Micrography

Microstructural analysis to assess grain size, material structure and material integrity at the microscopic level.

Fibering Analysis

Evaluation of fibre flow and grain orientation, critical for forged components used in structural applications.

100% Brinell Hardness (HB)

Systematic hardness verification across every piece, ensuring consistent mechanical properties throughout each batch.

On the Path to ISO 17025 Accreditation

We have formally initiated the accreditation process under ISO/IEC 17025, the international standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. This accreditation will provide our customers with independent, third-party confirmation that our laboratory operates to the highest standards of technical competence and measurement reliability.

ISO 17025 accreditation is the recognised benchmark for laboratories supplying results to regulated industries — including aerospace, oil & gas, nuclear, and structural engineering. Achieving this status reflects our long-term commitment to continuous improvement and to providing results our customers can rely on without question.

Accreditation process currently underway.
Updates will be communicated as milestones are reached.
“This investment in our laboratory is a direct expression of our commitment to quality and reliability. When we deliver a product with a test certificate, every figure on that document is backed by our own verified, in-house data.”
